Sydney Altbacker is a singer songwriter whose music blends intimate storytelling with mature, songwriting centered craft. Drawing inspiration from artists like Sara Bareilles, Norah Jones, and Maggie Rogers, she writes songs about love, change and growth.
Hailing from Long Island, New York, Sydney grew up in a home surrounded by music. A multi-instrumentalist at a young age, she began on piano and french horn in elementary school, later going on to study horn, voice, guitar and composition at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music.
Sydney has performed alongside renowned singer and songwriter Livingston Taylor, as well as performed on the world premier of an original composition for Wind Ensemble, Vocalist and Emcee’s titled “Passages” by multi-award winning composer Will Healy. She headlined the South Miami Arts Festival in 2024, and has performed many places between Miami, New York, Atlanta, and Nashville.
When not writing or performing, you might find Sydney caught in the middle of a book series, painting, or spending time with her friends and family. She is inspired by the art in the world around her, and strives to foster a community through her performances and music.
