Sydney Altbacker is a Nashville based singer-songwriter, composer and arranger from Long Island, New York. She is a graduate of the University of Miami's Frost School of Music where she studied music theory and composition, as well as media scoring and production.

Growing up in a home surrounded by music, Sydney’s writing takes influence from a diverse repertoire, including musicians such James Taylor, Carly Simon, Sara Bareilles, Maria Schneider, Jason Robert Brown and others. Her music is emotionally rich yet intimate, pairing honest and vulnerable lyrics with intricate melodies and arrangements.

Sydney has performed alongside renowned singer and songwriter Livingston Taylor, as well as premiered an original composition for Wind Ensemble, Vocalist and Emcee’s titled “Passages” by multi-award winning composer Will Healy. She headlined the South Miami Arts Festival in 2024, and has performed many places between Miami, New York, Atlanta, and Nashville.

When not writing or performing, you might find Sydney caught in the middle of a good book series, or laughing with her friends. She is a music educator, and brings her bright personality and passion for music into each lesson she teaches.
